The big reveal is here for one of EMID’s most recent projects. This house went from tired and traditional to woodsy chic without breaking the bank. Our client wanted a complete facelift without major surgery! We were able to achieve a massive transformation without making any structural changes to the home. Here’s the story…before and after.
KITCHEN
In the kitchen, we salvaged the existing cabinetry by replacing the cabinet doors, adding new hardware, and freshening the space with clean, white paint. The sink was replaced with a more serviceable, and much more stylish farmhouse sink. A new fixture over the island brings balance to the space. This fixture, along with the matte black hardware, ties the black element that you’ll see throughout the house into the kitchen. The kitchen facelift was completed with a new quartzite countertop, which provides the classic look of marble, but the durability of a granite. It’s the jewelry of the kitchen and definitely worth the upgrade. Classic white subway backsplash gives a finished look at a budget conscious price.

LIVING ROOM
The client loved the original stone fireplace and the previous owner gifted the steer head to adorn it. As a designer, this fireplace was a challenge, but we accepted and the end product not only thrilled the client, but turned out pretty great!

SUNROOM:
The sunroom is one of our FAVORITE spaces in the house. Our client requested emerald green as an accent color. What better way to add emerald green than with an amazing emerald green, velvet sofa. The black rattan chairs are airy and provide the perfect balance to the heavier velvet couch. We were so lucky to have a client risky enough to believe us that the wallpaper was perfect, and it really is. It pulls the woodsy vibe from the living room into the whimsical sunroom. On the wall, a forest themed engraved armoire opens to provide a full service bar, perfect for entertaining in their cool new space.

DINING ROOM
Our client has a big family so we needed to provide a dining space to accommodate large family dinners. Here we used a 120″ table and brought drama to the room with two giant black, woven pendants. The centerpiece feels very organic and carries through the woodsy chic vibe of the home. A large fern print is the perfect focal point when looking into the dining room from either the entry or sunroom. Black chairs anchor the arrangement.
