Holiday Decor with a Twist

DSC_4262

We are all familiar with  red and green holiday decor, and a tree chalk full of stuff you can’t even see its branches.  Yes!! I’m guilty too.  This year I wanted to strip it all down and take it back to basics.

The first thing I wanted to do was bring the outdoors in.  I mixed pine and other natural greenery in simple white vases.  Halos mandarins, Meyer lemons, and kumquats I cut from my fruit trees in my backyard provided a beautiful natural base and added pops of color.

Simple white plates and napkins sit a top matte black chargers.

Use what you have: There is no need to break the bank with new holiday decor.  Accent with your favorite plates, vases, and candlesticks.

Garland with different textures bring so much added charm.

Real indoor garland tends to get brittle, so we opted for artificial  swag.

Have fun and be you!
